Our next Bed and Breakfast was the Iris Inn. We found it nestled in a wooded western slope of the Blue Ridge mountains. The location was great - just off I-64, but completely hidden away from the world. We were only five minutes from the Blue Ridge Skyline Drive, and under a half-hour from Charlottesville and Mt. Vernon. |
We were in the "Pine Room", which was decorated with pine accents. The room was beautiful and spacious, and the western wall had windows that looked out across the valley. |
The Great Hall of the inn was where we had breakfast every morning, served up by our hosts Iris & Wayne. |

We were on the second floor, and this porch was right outside of our door. At the end of the porch was a spiral stairway up to a third-story observation deck, where we watched the sunset on a couple of evenings. Watching the sun go down over the mountains in the disitance could have been one of the most beautiful sights on our trip. |
